Bill & Melissa's Wedding Vows

Both Bill and I created our own vows to read to each other.  Here they are below:

Yes our hired prop "Bernie" is in the background!

BILL: We are made of particles that have existed since the moment the universe began 13.8 billion years ago.  The fact that those molecules have arranged to form us at this very moment speaks volumes to how rare and precious our love is.

In honour of that knowledge, I promise that I'll be there beside you if you need a shoulder to cry on. I'll be there to listen when you need to talk.   I'll be there to cheer you up.  I promise to respect, admire, and appreciate you for who you are. To help you become the person you want to be.  Because I love you and it delights me to see you happy. I will keep the tie that binds us.
We are a team.
You are my partner.

In the words of David Bowie:
Please be mine
Share my life
Stay with me
Be my wife
Our wonderful officiant Rob Tymec behind, as I read my vows to Bill

MELISSA: I’m sorry but I'm just thinking of the right words to say. I know they don’t sound the way I planned them to be, but as we stand here today in front of our family and friends, I promise you that I will be your keymaster, if you will be my gatekeeper.

Thank you for showing me the stars, taking me on my first kite-flying adventure, never being afraid to sing cheesy karaoke songs together, and just loving me, even when I beat you at skee-ball or continue to misplace the floss container in the bed covers.

I knew there was something extra special about you for waiting 3 months for our first kiss. I am so proud of who you are and I am touched by your genuine integrity. When we are apart, if I go out and notice the wrapper of a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup, or overhear someone committing a logical fallacy, I always think of you.

Whether we met through serendipity, as I believe, or simply by random chance, it is the pure blissful thought in my heart knowing that we actually met each other that matters the most.

Our Wedding: 1 Month Till I Do

Officially now at the 1 month mark until we say
"I do!"

This non-bogus celebration will be like no other. We will be travelling back in time to the tubular 80's. There will be special appearances from 80's movies characters that are so choice, some rad Flashy trivia, a delicious bodacious buffet-style dinner, and even movie-inspired appetizers and desserts! You can try your hand at classic board and card games. Like totally! The night will end with popcorn and a righteous classic 80's movie.

*Edited version for those who don't speak 80's*

This non-traditional celebration will be like no other. We will be travelling back in time to the 1980's era. There will be special appearances from 80's movies characters for photo-opportunities, some Flashy trivia with prizes, a delicious buffet-style dinner, and even movie-inspired appetizers and desserts! You can try your hand at classic board and card games. The night will end with popcorn and a classic romantic and fun 80's movie picked especially by Melissa.

We're getting married in 2019!

Planning is something that has been very difficult for me and a bit of a fear to be honest. However, re-framing my thoughts and continuing my own personal healing journey, having things to look forward to is important, knowing that adjustments may need to be made because life doesn't go in a straight line, it is certainly a winding road.

We're quite the quirky couple and so this was pretty fitting, plus we both love the 80's! :)

Can you guess who is in the photo and the movie?

This is not the official wedding invite that our family and friends will get, but something fun to post at the moment.

As an entertainer, Bill's weekends are busy and so we both liked the idea of a week-day wedding. Plus this means he won't miss out on any prime-time gigs!

WE ARE ENGAGED!

Pinch me...

I'm engaged!!!!

Bill proposed to me tonight.

Thank you to our families for sharing such an important moment with us.

Also, a huge thank you to the amazing Bobby Sproat with his version of "In A World Like This" by The Backstreet Boys.

I am so happy and totally excited to plan our wedding!!
