My family took me out to our favourite restaurant Casey's on Wednesday evening and since the waitress knows us very well, after finding out it was my birthday, she said that they made a special dessert for me. Four forks yet I managed to polish off most of it! lol It was a huge piece of double chocolate fudge, chocolate mousse cake drizzled with chocolate syrup. It was heavenly, as you can see from the photo below.
The next night was my birthday party at The Gourmet Emporium, which was a total blast! The food was delicious, loved the presentation of each dish, and although some of it was a bit too spicy, you can't go wrong with a 7-course meal! It was a shock though to all of us that to prepare everything takes over 1 1/2 hours. All of us had the 7-courses (although 3 of us did get the upgraded meals) I guess that is what "leisurely dining" is like. I'm not quite used to that style but it gave everyone a chance to chat and enjoy each other's company. The atmosphere was definitely on the trendy side and they had open mic night going on, so it got pretty loud with the music as well as a huge party beside us.
Looking at the time, 4 1/2 hours later, we said our goodbyes and Bill and I took off for a little casino fun! Great perks on your birthday with $5 free of slot play. We're hardly gamblers but once in a while it's fun to play.
